Law Enforcement Officers Remembered at Memorial in Ocean Grove

The roll call read:  Officer John Mark Cortazzo, of the NY/NJ Port Authority Police Department, End of Watch: March 14, 2009, Trooper Marc Kenneth Castellano, New Jersey State Police, End of Watch: June 6, 2010,  Officer John Abraham, Jr., Teaneck Police Department, End of Watch: October 25, 2010 and  Officer Christopher Matlosz, Lakewood Police Department, End of Watch: January 14, 2011.

The four law enforcement officers were honored at a law enforcement memorial held at The Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove recently. Soft, sweet singing by Atlantic City Police Officers Jerrell and Harold Lathan were contrasted by the penetrating sound of bagpipes and later, by sharp commands and the piercing blasts of the gun salute. Tears flowed freely as family members were escorted to the stage where they received flowers, a plaque and a few words of comfort from Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno, NJ , Attorney General Paula Dow and others.
